Benefits of being in the lickd community
#1 Use copyrighted music on YouTube and other social platforms
Lickd is the only place you can get big mainstream tracks that you can legally use in your videos. It’s crazy that creators had no way of using real music you listen to IRL, so we pulled up our socks and did something about it.
#2 Unleash your creativity & grow your channel
Welcome to the most extensive collection of copyrighted music for video content. Get inspired & engage your audience with music your viewers will actually recognise. Songs that will make your viewers comment “holy crap they used Oliver Tree’s song bro thats badass” (- an actual comment from a MrBeast video).
#3 Leave all the copyright fuss to us
Use a Lickd license and you’ll be protected against copyright claims – saving you from demonetization, muting and takedowns. Now you can use copyrighted music with peace of mind and focus on what you do best: creating amazing content!

Frequently asked questions
Forever! Lickd licenses are generally granted in perpetuity so there’s no danger of your video ever being taken down. (Yay!)
Absolutely, yes! Lickd is the first copyrighted music licensing platform that allows you to use great music AND avoid demonetization, with built-in protection from copyright claims.
As a YouTube partner, we integrate directly into YouTube’s Content ID to tell YouTube you’ve got permission to use a track. If YouTube still decides to put a claim on your video, we’re able to squash it’s ugly little head for you, so you have nothing to worry about.
First of all, you’ll need to have a YouTube channel in order to sign up and get a license from us (read more on why in the next FAQ).
Once you’re in, here are all the social platforms you can get a license for:
- YouTube
- Twitch
- TikTok
- Snapchat
- Vimeo
Please Note! Not all copyrighted tracks can be licensed for use on all platforms. Stock tracks can be used anywhere, but where a copyrighted track can be used depends on the song, artist and/or record label.
Just make sure to check the ‘Allowed Platforms’ section when you add a track to your basket. This will tell you clearly where you can use it.
If you’d like to use it on another platform, app or service, just make sure your video using the music is first hosted on a supported platform (e.g. YouTube) and simply embed it from there.
Most importantly, when you license any music from us, we’ll use your YouTube channel ID to prove to YouTube that you have permission to use certain music and so ensure you’ll be protected from copyright claims.
Secondly, we have a fairness-first pricing model, so you only pay what’s fair or affordable based on your average video views. When you create an account with Lickd, we take a look at your YouTube channel to calculate your unique, fair price.
Our ‘premium’ copyrighted music licenses do not permit the songs to be used for lyric videos or by themselves as an ‘art track’ (for example, with just an image of the album artwork, a black screen, static images, stock footage, etc).
That’s because our licenses have been created for those who need background music for their original video content. The type of videos described above are deemed not to use songs as background music for content, but simply as a way for viewers to stream the song itself. This is copyright infringement and therefore cannot be covered by our licenses. This restriction also concerns AI-generated lyric videos.
