Hugh Hardie
Artist bio
Hugh Hardie started playing piano at the age of nine, but after learning scales and music theory based around classical music, he found himself naturally gravitating toward a jazz and soul style of playing. By 2014, he had been making his way into the scene DJ'ing and producing before catching the attention of Hospital Records; exclusively signing with the label in 2015 and delivering a handful of tracks that appeared on a number of the label's compilations. Hugh released his first album Colorspace in 2017. Earlier this year the Bristol-based producer released his 13-track second studio album, ‘Shadows & Silhouettes’. Hugh’s smooth sounds are inspired by the trademark sound of Hospital veterans like High Contrast, Nu:Tone and Logistics, all the way to neo-soul and R&B artists Eryka Badu and Musiq Soulchild.
