Scatterlings of Africa

Track

Scatterlings of Africa was written by Johnny Clegg and Sipho Mchunu. Johnny Clegg explained the meaning of song at a concert: " When we wrote this song, the oldest human bones in the world had just been discovered at Olduvai Gorge, in Africa. So this is a song about how everyone can claim to be African ... if they want to, that is." Phelamanga is a mythical place-name invented by Johnny Clegg and Sipho Mchunu. Loosely translated from the Zulu language it means the place where the lies end. Olduvai refers to 'Olduvai Gorge' in Tanzania, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world where significant human remains were discovered by archaeologists. https://songmeanings.com/songs/wiki/3530822107858959293/ https://www.songfacts.com/facts/johnny-clegg-juluka/scatterlings-of-africa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olduvai_Gorge Read more on Last.fm.
