“SPIDER WEB” is the sixth song that is on her latest album "PORTALS". The song was first teased on March 6th of 2023 with a short video that was posted onto her social medias. On “SPIDER WEB” Melanie describes spider-like actions as a metaphor to specifically sing about how everyone’s “merging” and getting addicted to social media. The instrumental consists of Melanie’s signature pop style, upbeat dark-pop. ‘SPIDER WEB’ is written about social media’s chokehold on society. She wrote this one on her guitar in the portal room, recorded a voice memo of it and sent it to CJ.
